We recognise that sustainability is no longer a nice to have, it is a necessity in all business practice.
Here at Incentive Action we ensure we do our part to minimize the environmental, economic and social impacts of the events and programs we deliver
Our approach to sustainability is guided by three key pillars;
Our approach to sustainability is guided by three key pillars;
Environmental Sustainability:
reducing the footprint of our events through waste minimization, energy efficiency and the responsible sourcing of materials and suppliers
Economic Sustainability
achieving financial success without compromising ethical or sustainable standards by supporting local vendors, fair trade practices and initiatives that deliver direct economic benefit to local communities
Social Sustainability
placing people at the centre of every event by prioritising accessibility, inclusivity, wellbeing and safety for all attendees
Key sustainability considerations across our events include
- Venue Selection partnering with venues that hold recognized sustainability certifications, utilize renewable energy where possible and have systems in place to minimize landfill waste
- Food and Drinks Working with local caterers and suppliers to provide seasonal, locally sourced menus where practicable. Surplus food is donated to charity partners or composted where donation is not possible. Menus include ample plant based options to support good health outcomes and reduce environmental impacts. Single use plastic water bottles are avoided, with accessible refill stations provided where practical
- Event Collateral prioritising digital programs and communications including QR codes. Where printed materials are required, recycled or biodegradable materials are used
- Walkable Event Design Selecting venues and accommodation within walking distance or locations with free or accessible public transport. Where possible, collaborating with local transport providers to support sustainable commuting.
- Inclusivity Ensuring all delegates can access and participate fully in event programs, regardless of individual needs. With appropriate information from clients and attendees, reasonable adjustments can be made to support equitable participation.
- Freight & Logistics reducing the volume and weight of materials and working with suppliers to assess the carbon efficiency of transport options including air, rail, road and sea
- Sustainable Delegate Kits using reusable items including stainless steel water bottles, responsibly sourced merchandise while minimising printed material and single use items
- Local supplier integration Partnering with local performers, community groups and charities and incorporating local culture, storytelling and flavours into programs to create authentic experiences while supporting local economies
- Purpose Driven team building activities Delivering team-building activities that create meaningful community impact through partnerships with local organisations.
- Accommodation Utilising hotels and accommodation providers with recognised sustainability accreditations and/or demonstrated environmental practices.
- Reusable décor avoiding single use décor in favour of reusable, environmentally responsible styling solutions
- Energy and natural light Maximising natural light to reduce reliance on artificial lighting and support delegate wellbeing. Where lighting is required, energy efficient and LED options are used
Implementing sustainable practices requires deliberate decision making at every stage of event planning. Incentive Action is committed to delivering memorable experiences that protect the environment, support communities and promote inclusive, responsible event outcomes.
